I have been a mineral makeup girl for the vast majority of my makeup wearing life.  I was introduced to Bare Escentuals the first year of college or so, and for a great many years, that was my go to brand.  Over the years, I have tried a few other brands of mineral makeup, but generally went back to BE for my foundation needs.

Over the past few years, I’ve tried some other foundations.  A liquid here, a crème foundation there.  While I like having the different foundations for different occasions, I still prefer a mineral makeup for my everyday wear.  Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the line of Aubrey Organics mineral makeup.

First up was the Silken Earth translucent base in Porcelain.  This comes in a giant jar that’s about 2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter.  That is huge!  ¾ oz by weight, which is a metric ton of mineral makeup.

The thing is, though, that the Aubrey Organics mineral makeup foundation is a great quality.  It’s creamy, but not gunky, and goes on smoothly.  The sheerness allowed for a buildup of layers for additional coverage.  As it warmed to your body, the foundation set.  And it covered beautifully while staying in place all day.  You know how some mineral makeups have a tendency to make you itchy?  I didn’t have any of those issues with this, either.

Next up was the blush in a shade called Raisin.  At first glance, I was like “Um…no way, no how.”  I mean, I am the fairest of the fair, and this blush was kind of a dark purple-brown shade.  It was obviously not meant for me.  I decided to try it out anyway, and an amazing thing happened.  It turned into this beautiful neutral shade that was oh so flattering.  I was shocked.  SHOCKED I say!

Finally, there was a Natural Lips lip gloss in Pink Pearl.  This had a great color payoff, and wasn’t sticky.  It felt good going on, too.  It didn’t last forever, but I’d say it wore for a good couple of hours.

I have tried a good many mineral foundations, and Aubrey Organics mineral makeup is definitely one of my favored brands.

I’ve never tried mineral makeup. I only wear makeup for special occasions. But this looks like it would be good to try.
