Easy Blackberry Margaritas are a deliciously sweet and sour cocktail that pairs perfectly with the hot summer weather!
When making cocktails for a party, you really can’t go wrong with a classic margarita! But who wants classic (aka boring)?
Personally, I’ve never been one for ‘classic’. I like to shake things up (no pun intended)! My Spicy Chocolate Chip Margaritas and Pink Prickly Pear Margaritas are both huge crowd pleasers! Plus, who could say no to Watermelon Margarita Frozen Fruit Pops? Can you tell I might have a thing for margaritas? Or maybe it’s the tequila?
Now I have a new recipe to add to my summer cocktail repertoire – Blackberry Margaritas! The sweet and tart flavor of the fresh blackberries is such a delicious addition to a margarita! Plus look at that color! What an added bonus!

Instructions
- In a tall glass, muddle blackberries.

Serve it Up Frozen
If you prefer a super cold treat in summer, it’s super easy to serve these Blackberry Margaritas frozen vs on the rocks. Simply add all of the ingredients to your blender and pulse until its smooth – no need to muddle the blackberries before blending for frozen. If you aren’t a fan of the seeds from blackberries in your drink though, pour the mixture through a fine-meshed sieve into in your favorite glass rimmed with sugar or salt.
Blackberry Margarita Tips & Substitutions
- Tequila – While any tequila is fine for making a margarita, a higher quality tequila will definitely make a difference in the flavor and taste
- Triple Sec – Grand Marnier and Cointreau make great subs for the Triple Sec, but also add to the overall cost to make the drink
- Margarita Mix – If bottled margarita mix isn’t your favorite, simply sub out for fresh lime juice, with a small amount of agave or honey depending on how sweet you like your drinks. I would also recommend using a high quality tequila if you’re going this route.
