It wasn’t that long ago that maternity clothes were a hot mess.  Well, not so hot, and more of just a mess.  Apparently if you’re pregnant, you need to look matronly, and you lose any sense or desire to look put together.  Sometime in the last 10 years, and really in the past 6  years or so, maternity clothes have come a long way.

Jessica Simpson recently launched her Jessica Simpson Maternity line at Pea in the Pod & Motherhood Maternity.  That girl’s basically been pregnant for the past 2 years, so she knows what mamas-to-be want in their wardrobe pieces.  Check our these great items from her new line.

Jessica-Simpson-Maternity--Faux-Leather-Jacket-$69.00;-Floral-Knit-Tee-$38.00;-Skinny-Jeans-$44.00 (575 x 862)

Pair a faux leather jacket {$69} with a floral knit tee {$39} and skinny jeans {$44} for a great casual cool outfit.

Jessica-Simpson-Maternity-Convertible-Sleeve-Tunic-$59.00;-Printed-Legging-$39.00 (575 x 862)

Convertible Sleeve Tunic {$59} and Printed Leggings {$39} make for a great outfit for work or a meal out.  And I kind of love these booties!

Jessica-Simpson-Maternity-Pointelle-Sleeve-Cardigan-$59.00;-Slub-Henley-$38.00;-Cuff-Skinny-$59.00 (575 x 862)Pontelle sleeve cardigan {$59}, Slub Henley {$38}, and cuffed skinny jeans {$59}.  Such a cute outfit for running around town.

Jessica-Simpson-Maternity-Space-Dye-Pointelle-Sweater-$59.00;-Stretch-Rinse-Jean-$59.00 (575 x 862)

Space-dyed pointelle sweater {$59} and a pair of dark wash skinny jeans that have stretch added {$59} can pretty much take you anywhere.

There were a couple other things I loves about the Jessica Simpson Maternity line.  These are the type of clothes we already have in our closets, just designed to accommodate the baby bumps.  The other is that how affordable these pieces are.  It wasn’t so long ago that the cheapest pair of maternity jeans were pushing $100 and tops started around $70.

What’s your favorite piece from the Jessica Simpson Maternity line?

Those are all super cute! I don’t know if I could pull those booties off, though.

i wish she had come out with these clothes when i was pregnant! i dont think a pregnant woman needs to be wearing boots with heels though. They make really cute boots without heels and flats..way safer.

First of all you’re gorgeous! Second, I love Jessica, always have. These maternity fashions that you are wearing are awesome! I didn’t know she had a line. I just had my baby in May. I had some cute stuff but nothing this cute. With my first pregnancy at 21 I pulled off heels like that but with this 2nd pregnancy at 29 there was no way. But only bc I broke my ankle and foot right after I had my first and have a ion holding it together, and it broke bc of a heel like that, snapped my foot in half! So can only wear certain size heels now. 🙂 stay fabulous 🙂

You’re very sweet, but that is NOT me! It’s a model! I do agree that the styles are fantastic, though.

Wow! I love the faux leather jacket with the floral knit tee! I’m surprised by the prices, they’re far more reasonable than I was expecting.

I love that her line doesn’t fit with the old run in the mill maternity clothing and probably makes a pregnant woman feel beautiful and fashionable.
