How to Make Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey Bath Bombs

Ingredients

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup citric acid
  • ¼ cup powdered milk
  • 3 tbsp oatmeal, divided
  • 1 tbsp sweet almond oil
  • ½ tsp water
  • ½ tsp honey

Supplies Needed

  • Bath bomb molds
  • Large bowl
  • Whisk
  • Small jar with lid (4-8 oz is fine)

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the baking soda, citric acid, and powdered milk until well combined.  Add 2 tablespoons oatmeal and whisk again until well combined.

Add sweet almond oil, water, and honey to the jar, secure the lid and shake very well until combined.

Slowly drizzle the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring constantly, making sure it doesn’t start to fizz. The mixture should have a damp, sand-like consistency and hold together when squeezed.

Sprinkle the leftover oats into half of the bath bomb molds. Firmly press the mixture into bath bomb molds, packing it tightly. If using a two-piece mold, slightly overfill each side before pressing them together.

Allow the bath bombs to dry in the molds for at least 4 hours. Once they’re firm and dry to the touch, carefully remove them from the molds and let them harden completely.  I usually put them on top of a tall bookcase or shelf so they don’t get disturbed.

Store your Oatmeal Milk and Honey bath bombs in an airtight container until you’re ready to use.

How to Use Your Bath Bomb

Simply drop one bath bomb into warm water and watch it fizz away, releasing soothing oatmeal, moisturizing milk, and the delicate scent of honey. Soak, relax, and enjoy.

Tips for the Best Bath Bombs

Humidity Matters

If your bath bombs are fizzing too soon or not holding their shape, the air might be too humid. Try using a dehumidifier or adding a bit more of the dry ingredients.

Customize the Scent

Add a few drops of vanilla or chamomile essential oil for an extra layer of relaxation.

Storage Tip

Keep bath bombs in a dry, airtight container to prevent them from absorbing moisture and losing their fizz. You can also use a bath bomb shrinkwrap kit to help them retain their shape and protect them from the elements.

These Oatmeal Milk & Honey Bath Bombs are the perfect winter self-care treat, giving your skin the hydration it needs while providing a luxurious bath experience. Whether you make them for yourself or gift them to a friend, they’re sure to be a hit.
