When the weather changes, especially going from summer to autumn, it feels like we need to put our fun colors away and get out those dark and broody shades.
It doesn’t matter if it’s our wardrobes or our makeup colors, it suddenly has a major color shift.

Essie recently released their fall 2024 nail polish collection called Punk at Heart. The series consists of 6 colors that all have a fall feel but are oh so wearable.
Essie Punk at Heart Nail Polish Collection
Never too Bold – A metallic dark teal shade that’s not too flashy for a conservative office but gives your nails that little sumtin sumtin.
Patch It Up – A really pretty creamy green shade that’s perfect for fall. Darker than apple, not quite olive, it’s somewhere in the middle.
Loud and Proud – A gorgeous slightly grungy rose pink. Not too bright for fall, but oh so pretty.
Punk at Heart – A very dark inky blue shade that’s almost black. This will look amazing with metallic highlights or a glitter topper.
Studs and Spikes – A coffee brown-bronze shade with a lot of metallic sparkle shimmer. So wearable.
Leather Weather – A beautiful rich dark eggplant purple shade.
These colors have a good coverage, and took about two coats to get a nice, creamy opaque coverage. Never Too Bold could use a third coat if you’re a perfectionist, as it looks a little streaky, but two were perfectly wearable.
The Punk at Heart collection wears about the same as other Essie polishes. I’ve been wearing Studs and Spikes this week, and got about 4 days with no chips, but also no prep work or top coat. What can I say – I live dangerously. HA! I also didn’t plan to do my nails, so I wasn’t ready.
The Punk at Heart Fall 2024 Nail Polish Collection is available everywhere you normally find Essie polishes.
