This Dames at Sea nautical look piece was put together by us. We may have received editorial samples of some items featured.
One of my favorite looks for summer is the Nautical look. It’s pretty classic and never really goes out of style. Even better, it’s an easy look to put together, and you can easily customize it. Here are five easy pieces to help you achieve the perfect nautical look.
Spring 2013 Fashion Trends may include items I received for consideration. Regardless, all opinions are my own.
Spring is in full effect now, even though it doesn’t necessarily feel that way everywhere. Some days it’s 90 degrees and then, like today, the high is forecast to be 65. For each season, I like to introduce new pieces into my wardrobe to freshen it up.
I am a huge fan of t shirts. In the past few years, they’ve introduced great new fabrics, washes, and cuts that make them a lot more stylish and oodles more interesting. Solid colors, stripes, and all over prints, they’re all welcomed here. I also love artsy screen-printed tees like the ones available at Red Bubble. They have literally tens of thousands of designs available in over 50 cuts, colors, and styles.
Since Spring is officially here, I suppose we should start thinking about the transition. I have to admit, I find it a bit difficult, as I look out my window to 6 inches of fresh snow, with more coming our way.
Here are five things that are supposed to be big 2013 Spring trends.
I am a huge fan of independent designers. I find that they really seem to come up with stuff that’s quite unusual and unique. Generally, it’s not something that you’re going to find in every store, or encounter a ton of people wearing your item when you go somewhere.
One of the things that makes Indie design so great – the unusualness, the scarcity, the lacking of major distribution – is the same thing that makes it difficult to get your hands on it. Red Bubble is here to help, at least in the distribution aspect.
Sometimes, you just struggle to find the words that you’re searching for. How do you express your feelings and emotions? For me, one of the things that brings out the emotions is music. While the melody can be powerful, what really gets to you is the lyrics.
What better way to show the world what you feel than by wearing your heart on your sleeve. Or your hoodie, a scarf, or even a necklace. That’s where Lyric Culture comes in. Lyric Culture creates fun and fantastic clothes and accessories that have lyrics to your favorite songs on them. So fun!
February is Go Red for Women month. Heart disease is the leading killer of women, with one woman dying from heart disease every minute. It is responsible for more deaths than all forms of Cancer, combined, yet women are more concerned about cancer.
To help bring awareness to the worthwhile cause, February 1 is National Wear Red for Women Day. Here are some great red statement pieces.
Five Easy Pieces is a collection of five items that make great additions to your wardrobe. Sometimes they’re a complete outfit or look, while other times it’s just five easy pieces that may be themed, or completely random. It all depends on my mood. This one is January 2013 trends
A fantastic Pea Coat. I have to admit, I love a good basic piece, and Pea Coats fit right in. They’re an item that you can splurge on, as you know that it won’t be going out of style any time soon. And as long as you take care of it, it will last you season after season.
Scarves happen to be one of my favorite fashion accessories. They’re so versatile, come in a wide array of colors, materials, and styles, and can really change up the look of an outfit. How do you wear them, though?
A few ideas of how to wear a scarf
There’s lots of ways! Let’s start with a lighter weight scarf. This could be chiffon, silk, cotton, or even knit. You can wear it simply draped around your neck, letting the ends hang long, either in front or behind you. Try wrapping it around your neck, making a loop and letting the ends drape down in front or behind you. You could tuck the ends in, making it a loop that bunches up around your neck and shoulders.
